Although the ultrasound probe is designed to be durable, it can damage the probe by improper operation with ultrasonic coupling agent, cleaning solution, and disinfectant during cleaning, or it may damage the lens and piezoelectric crystal when it is dropped or impacted when the probe is operated. Therefore, in order to maximize the performance of the probe, the maintenance of the probe need to pay attention to the following points:
1. The probe should not fall, collide, or heat.
2. The probe should not be subjected to strong vibration. Do not hard pull the hard-bending probe wire to avoid damage.
3. When you pause the diagnosis, place it in the instrument probe box and press the “Freeze” button to put the probe in a “frozen” state.
4. The contact agent used in the probe should be medical couplant, and it should not be replaced by other oils.
5. The couplant should be wiped off after each use.
6. The probe is not allowed to invade other conductive liquids, and should not be near high temperature to avoid damage to the probe and sheath.
7. Clean and sterilize the probe. Wipe the case with an alcohol cotton ball.
8. After the probe is connected to the main unit, it should not t be removed at will.
