Precautions for autoclaving

High-pressure steam sterilization is a sterilization method that can kill all microorganisms including spores, and is the best sterilization effect. It is suitable for the sterilization of ordinary medium, normal saline, surgical instruments, glass containers and syringes, dressings and other items.
Precautions
(1) The sterilization package should not be too large or too tight (the volume should not be greater than 30cm×30cm×30cm), and the total amount of items placed in the sterilizer should not exceed 85% of the volume of the sterilizer cabinet. There are gaps between each bag to facilitate the circulation of steam and penetrate into the center of the package, and the steam is quickly discharged when exhausting to keep the items dry.
(2) The container containing the goods should have holes. If there is no hole, the container cover should be opened.
(3) Cloth items should be placed on top of metal and enamel items.
(4) The sterilized items should be taken out after drying.
(5) Before the sterilizer is sealed, the cold air should be fully evacuated.
(6) Observe the pressure and temperature at any time.
(7) Pay attention to safe operation. Before each sterilization, check whether the sterilizer is in good working condition.
(8) Do not depressurize too much after the sterilization is completed, and the cover or door can only be opened after the pressure gauge returns to the "0" position.
