Maintenance of Medical Ultrasound Probes

Ultrasound probe is a precise and valuable device and a valuable part of ultrasound equipment. Its damage will make the ultrasound diagnostic equipment unable to use normally. Therefore, in order to protect the probe, the following points should be paid attention to during use:

1) Carefully read the probe instruction manual before use, and strictly abide by the probe's use regulations;

2) The ultrasonic probe is a valuable device, and it must be handled with care during use and must not collide with the sound head. During transportation, storage, and storage, the original manufacturer's probe box should be used or the sound head should be wrapped with a soft cloth.

3) When installing and removing the probe, firstly turn off the main power of the whole machine, and then operate it carefully.

4) Avoid contact with organic solvents, otherwise the probe will be cracked and damaged due to contact with organic solvents, but alcohol-based organic solvents can be used. Remember not to wipe with acetone.

5) Protect the lens surface. Once the lens surface is damaged, the couplant will easily enter the probe and damage the piezoelectric element, so sharp objects are not allowed to pierce the lens surface during use.

6) Non-corrosive couplant should be used. The ultrasonic couplant used has no irritating effect on the skin and is not oily, because the acoustic lens of many probes is easily damaged by the corrosion of oily substances.

7) If you want to soak and sterilize, please operate according to the manufacturer's instructions, otherwise the circuit inside the probe will fail or even burn out if water enters.

8) Do not sterilize at high temperature, because the probe is equipped with piezoelectric ceramics, and high temperature will weaken the piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric ceramics.

9) Before use, check carefully whether the probe shell and cable are damaged, so as to prevent the probe from being injured by high-voltage electric shock.

10) After the probe is used, be sure to wipe off the residual couplant on the probe to prevent mice or other animals from gnawing on the lens.

Paying attention to preventive maintenance is the basic requirement of medical device engineering and technical personnel. Perform health checks on equipment to ensure safe and effective operation of equipment, reduce downtime and save maintenance costs. Eliminate small faults and avoid causing major faults and affecting the normal work of the hospital. Attention should be paid to any abnormality during the operation of the equipment. Sometimes a small abnormal phenomenon may be a precursor to a failure. If it is not checked, it may cause a larger failure and cause unnecessary losses to the hospital. Regularly inspect the equipment, do not let the equipment work with illness, and do not wait until the equipment is completely paralyzed before repairing. Routine maintenance and regular maintenance are very important, which can prolong the service life of the equipment, reduce downtime, and improve the economy. benefit.
