Introduction of Positive End Expiratory Pressure (PEEP) Function

Control principle

Control principle: keep a certain pressure (PEEP value) of the gas in the lungs of the patient during exhalation to meet the needs of ventilation;

2. Benefits of PEEP

Benefits of PEEP function: It can avoid early alveolar closure, expand alveoli, increase functional residual gas volume, improve ventilation and oxygenation effects, and can also offset endogenous PEEP;

3. Value range

Value range: increase gradually from low to high, PEEP value generally does not exceed 15cmH2O, those with a high PEEP value exceeding 15cmH2O need to be used with caution; (PEEP main indications are ARDS and COPD patients);

4. Contraindications

Contraindications: Severe circulatory failure, hypovolemia, emphysema, pneumothorax, bronchopleural fistula, etc. are contraindications to the use of PEEP.
