Bedside monitors: the eyes of ICU medical staff!
Without monitoring for critically ill patients, there is no failure to evaluate the patient's condition and choose the correct treatment.
And this monitoring is a basic project that every patient must take, which is often overlooked, but it is of great significance.
The routine monitoring content of the monitor by the window includes: 1. ECG and heart rate monitoring: It mainly depends on the heart rhythm of the patient. If there is an abnormality, an ECG is also required, because most of the ECG on the ECG monitor can only display one lead. A lot of information is still incomplete, and a more comprehensive 12-lead ECG or 18-lead ECG is to be done, so the purpose of this monitoring is to find the patient's abnormal heart rhythm and monitor it dynamically. The heart rate is mainly used to monitor the number of heartbeats of the patient, and the range of normal people is 60-100 beats per minute. If it is too fast or too slow, it must be dealt with. The cost is 5 yuan/hour. 2. Blood pressure monitoring: Monitor the patient's systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as the mean arterial pressure. The blood pressure of a normal person has a range: 90-120/60-90mmHg, generally higher or lower than this index indicates a problem , The doctor needs to find out the cause and deal with it. Non-invasive blood pressure monitoring costs 5 yuan/hour. The cuff of the monitor is directly tied up. It is usually measured with one inflation. The shortest monitoring time is 3 minutes, which is a discontinuous measurement value. The cost of invasive blood pressure monitoring is 8 yuan/hour. Generally, it is necessary to prevent the indwelling needle in the patient's arteries. After connecting the pressure transducer, the monitor can continuously display the patient's blood pressure. These two monitorings generally only use the same monitoring, except under special circumstances (for example, the two are very different, and the vascular condition is not good, they are used at the same time) 3. Blood oxygen (that is, pulse oxygen) and respiratory rate monitoring: the patient's blood oxygen Saturation is mainly determined by the patient's oxygen supply. It is mainly determined by the patient's breathing. Normal people are above 95%. If it is lower than this value, the cause must be analyzed and the treatment must be carried out. The breathing rate depends on the patient's breathing rate and rhythm per hour. Normally, it is 12-20 breaths per minute. Too fast or slow is a problem. The cost is 3 yuan/hour. 4. Central venous pressure monitoring: In general, deep venous catheterization is required. The cost is about 700 yuan (the detailed cost will be written separately). It has a certain meaning for heart function and fluid volume monitoring. It is basically used for patients in ICU. The cost is 3 yuan/hour. Generally, each item has a normal value, or normal range. When the value is not within the normal range, the doctor will see it, consider the reason, and intervene. These items on the monitor are items that every patient must use. They have become the eyes of the ICU medical staff, and everyone often overlooks its role.
When patients have changes in their condition, these monitored vital signs often have auras, and monitoring is a prerequisite for treatment. If you wait until the patient develops symptoms, it is often too late!
